The Aberdare Country Club, only a three–hour drive heading northeast from Nairobi, is nestled on a slope of Mweiga Hill in the Aberdare Highlands, part of the Great Rift Valley. This captivating site was selected, with much emotion, by an English couple who had decided to settle in the land of their choosing – Kenya. It all happened many years ago: their children grew up there, but then moved on to different places. After almost half a century, their home, “The Steep”, was sold and developed along the lines the original owners would not have dreamed of, but was carefully nurtured and kept in a way they would have approved.

Pelican Lodge, set overlooking Lake Elementaita is a rustic retreat nestled deep in the Rift Valley. The Lodge features an outdoor pool, restaurant, and bar. The rooms are decorated in warm and natural colors. They are all spacious and equipped with a seating area, flat-screen TV, and laptop safe. Each bed is draped with a mosquito net.
