The Emakoko is a luxury lodge set on 15 acres of land bordering the Nairobi National Park and the Emakoko River. It has been thoughtfully placed in the side of a valley on the Mbagathi River and there are wonderful views over the river and into the Park. Guests gain a boutique bush experience in this intimate property away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Nairobi National Park is a peaceful refuge from the city and The Emakoko allows guests to start and finish their safari in the wildlife environment they have travelled so far to enjoy The luxurious rondavel style guest rooms have been placed to make the most of the spectacular landscape. There are five rooms at river level- closer to the main areas- and a further five rooms built higher in the hillside with views overlooking the valley and river and into the game park. Guest rooms are light and airy with attractive furnishings and each has a cosy fireplace, wooden decking and en-suite facilities. There is pleasant viewing area where guests can relax and enjoy a beer or an Emakoko cocktail with the chance to see the resident hippo which grazes on the lawns in the early evening or the morning. In the heat of the day guests can cool off in the attractive pool which has a pleasant setting near the river.
